“Just now, it was announced by the Minister Secretary of State representing the government that the government has no plans to adjust the prices of subsidised BBM or non-subsidised BBM, amid rumours circulating in society about an adjustment on 1 April tomorrow,” said Dasco.

“Therefore, we are monitoring that today there are queues in some areas at petrol stations, so we urge that with the government’s announcement that there are no plans to adjust the prices of subsidised or non-subsidised BBM, meaning that starting tomorrow the same prices will still apply, so the public does not need to panic, the public does not need to queue, and especially not to hoard BBM,” he said.
Previously, the government dismissed rumours of a fuel price increase on 1 April 2026. Prasetyo said the government, along with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) and Pertamina, had discussed the matter following the rumours. The decision was taken on direct instructions from President Prabowo Subianto, prioritising the interests of the people.
“So, we need to convey that after we coordinated in this regard, the government and the Ministry of ESDM together with Pertamina, and on the instructions of Mr President. Mr President always prioritises the interests of the people and society in making a decision,” Pras said to reporters on Tuesday (31/3).
“That is why Pertamina states that Pertamina will not adjust prices for either subsidised BBM or non-subsidised BBM,” he continued.
