Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal, officially launched the ‘Mata Digital’ CCTV Command Centre of Solokanjeruk Police Sector (Soljer Cekas) at the Solokanjeruk Police Station on Saturday, 15 August 2026.

The inauguration was attended by the Bandung Regency Police leadership, regional legislators, and members of the sub-district leadership coordination forum (Forkopimcam).

The innovation, involving the installation of 17 CCTV points across seven villages, aims to achieve maximum security in the area. Cucun, as he is affectionately known, highly appreciated the synergy of all parties involved.

As a form of technological transformation in surveillance, Cucun expressed hope that this innovation could be expanded to eliminate crime.

“I hope that Bandung Regency will truly achieve zero crime. Not a single person should dare to commit a criminal act within the jurisdiction of the Bandung Regency Police because everything is monitored by CCTV. With the installation of CCTV, if someone commits a crime, they can be monitored,” said Cucun.

Cucun explained that security guarantees are crucial for fostering an investment climate while also preventing unemployment, which often triggers crime.

“This is a strategic step in utilising information technology to improve field surveillance. Providing a sense of security and legal certainty to the public and business actors is a top priority. Investors will be willing to come and open businesses in Bandung Regency if legal certainty exists,” he said.

Therefore, Cucun stressed that synergy with various parties is absolutely necessary to realise zero crime in Bandung Regency.

Cucun assured that the movement of criminals would be severely restricted through this system.

“There is no room whatsoever for people who commit criminal acts. They cannot move freely because they are monitored by the digital eyes owned by the police sectors of the Bandung Regency Police,” Cucun asserted.

“Security and order are an inevitability that must be realised. How to achieve a sense of safety, calm, and comfort in our great nation — everyone has a role, both members of the National Police and the Armed Forces,” he continued.

As a legislator, Cucun pledged to continue providing support, both in terms of budget and evaluation. He also emphasised that the CCTV system has direct benefits for the daily protection of residents.

“Congratulations on the inauguration of the Soljer Cekas CCTV. May it be beneficial for the community within the jurisdiction of Solokanjeruk,” he added.
