The Deputy Chair of Commission VIII of the House of Representatives, Abidin Fikri, has urged the Ministry of Religious Affairs to immediately disburse professional teaching allowances (TPG) to madrasah teachers before Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri.

Abidin emphasised that the payment of these allowances represents a right of teachers that must be fulfilled on time by the government. He also stressed that the welfare of madrasah teachers is the responsibility of the government through the state budget.

Consequently, delays in TPG payments should not occur, especially ahead of the Eid al-Fitr celebrations. “Delays in madrasah TPG payments have the potential to trigger social unrest if teachers’ rights are not prioritised on time before Eid,” Abidin stated in a written statement on Monday, 9 March 2026.

Abidin recounted findings from his visits to his electoral district during the DPR recess, noting that many madrasah teachers complained about delayed TPG payments that did not follow the prescribed schedule. He stated that the government needs to respond promptly to teachers’ complaints so they can receive their entitlements without having to wait until after Eid.

This legislator from the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle fraction also requested that the Ministry of Religious Affairs accelerate the data verification process in the Simpatika system so that 405,438 madrasah teachers can promptly receive their professional allowances.

According to him, although the disbursement process for the third and fourth phases of the Teacher Eligibility Determination Decree (SKAKPT) has already begun, the disbursement mechanism needs to be expedited so as not to disappoint educators, particularly madrasah teachers who have historically received relatively low honorariums.

“Commission VIII of the House of Representatives will continue to oversee the process to ensure that madrasah teachers’ rights are fulfilled on time before Eid,” said the legislator from the East Java District IX electoral constituency.

Previously, the Director General of Islamic Education at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Amien Suyitno, stated that the TPG disbursement process is proceeding following the acceleration of the issuance of the Teacher Eligibility Determination Decree (SKAKPT) for teachers who have met administrative requirements. Amien said the acceleration of SKAKPT issuance is being continuously pursued so that madrasah teacher allowances can be distributed promptly.

“In accordance with the directive of the Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar, we are continuously accelerating the SKAKPT issuance process so that madrasah teachers’ rights can be received promptly,” said Amien Suyitno on Thursday, 5 March 2026.

“For those whose SKAKPT has been issued, the allowance disbursement process has already begun in phases this week,” he added.

Based on data from SKAKPT processing on 2 and 4 March 2026, of the total 405,438 madrasah teachers with a Teacher Registration Number (NRG), 246,449 SKAKPTs have been issued. This figure includes 32,081 teachers who passed the 2025 Teacher Professional Education (PPG) programme. Meanwhile, approximately 158,989 other teachers remain in the process of administrative finalisation for SKAKPT issuance in the next phase.

The Directorate General of Islamic Education has scheduled further SKAKPT issuance for the third phase on 7 March and the fourth phase on 9 March 2026.
