DPR Confident Attorney General's Jampidsus Candidate Is the Best
Jakarta - Deputy Speaker of House Commission III, Ahmad Sahroni, is confident that the candidate for Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) chosen by Attorney General Sanitiar Burhanuddin is the best candidate for the Indonesian Attorney General’s Office. “Whoever the Attorney General’s choice is, that is the best for the institution,” Sahroni stated when contacted in Jakarta on Wednesday.
The Presidential Palace has confirmed that the Attorney General has sent a letter proposing a candidate to replace Febrie Adriansyah, who has been named a suspect in an alleged corruption and money laundering case. The proposed name is Kuntadi, who currently serves as Head of the Asset Recovery Agency at the Indonesian Attorney General’s Office.
Regarding this, Sahroni is confident that Kuntadi was selected by the Attorney General because the figure is already highly qualified and has undergone various selection processes. “We support whoever is chosen by the Attorney General for a better future,” he said.
Previously, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi stated that the Palace had received a letter from Attorney General Sanitiar Burhanuddin containing the proposed name for the new Jampidsus to replace Febrie Adriansyah, who resigned. “As of yesterday, the Attorney General has officially sent a letter to the President to propose a name to replace the Jampidsus official who submitted his resignation some time ago,” Prasetyo said. Prasetyo confirmed that the Head of the Asset Recovery Agency, Kuntadi, is one of the names proposed by the Attorney General.
