Samarinda (ANTARA) - The Chair of DPR RI Commission X, Hetifah Sjaifudian, stated that the delineation area of the Nusantara Capital (IKN) in the future must become the face of Indonesian education’s success, so human resources and supporting infrastructure need to be prepared starting now. “Schools in the IKN buffer areas, such as in Penajam Paser Utara Regency (PPU), must become the face of Indonesian education going forward. We want to ensure that all educational units have the same quality standards, both in terms of facilities, infrastructure, and access,” Hetifah said when contacted from Samarinda, East Kalimantan, on Thursday. The development in IKN, she said, should not only focus on physical infrastructure but must also be balanced with strengthening the quality of human resources through equitable and high-standard education. According to her, Commission X of DPR RI is continuously pushing for regulatory strengthening through the refinement of the National Education System Law (Sisdiknas), to ensure that minimum standards of educational services can be fully met in all regions, including strategic areas like IKN and its surroundings. “Revitalisation is not just about physical buildings, but also about how to create a learning environment that is decent, safe, and supports optimal student growth and development,” she said. She mentioned that for 2025, Penajam Paser Utara Regency is recorded to receive an allocation of more than Rp13 billion for improving educational facilities and infrastructure, covering the construction and rehabilitation of schools from early childhood education to junior high school levels. This is certainly one step towards realising PPU as the face of education in the future.
