Commission X of the House of Representatives (DPR) Chair Hetifah Sjaifudian has highlighted numerous public complaints arising from the implementation of the 2026 New Student Admissions (PCMB) in West Java due to registration system disruptions. She assessed that the issue must serve as a serious evaluation point for all organisers. ‘The various complaints emerging in the implementation of PCMB 2026 in West Java must become material for serious evaluation for all organisers. The new student admission system is a public service concerning the public’s right to education,’ Hetifah told reporters on Thursday (11/6/2026). She stressed that new student admission services must be supported by reliable, transparent, and easily accessible governance and technological infrastructure. Therefore, the handling of occurring obstacles needs to be carried out swiftly so as not to disadvantage students. ‘The most important thing now is to ensure that all students are not disadvantaged due to the technical obstacles that occurred,’ she stated. As is known, the implementation of PCMB 2026 in West Java was marked by a number of public complaints regarding registration system disruptions. In response to this, the Governor of West Java took evaluation steps by temporarily deactivating the Head of the West Java Education Office’s UPTD Tikomdik. Hetifah said her party respected the evaluation measure. However, she hoped the improvement efforts would not only focus on the personal aspect or the replacement of officials alone. ‘We certainly respect the evaluation steps taken by the West Java Provincial Government, and hope the improvements do not only focus on the personal aspect or replacement of officials, but also touch on comprehensive system reform,’ she said. According to Hetifah, going forward there is a need for strengthened inter-agency coordination, more mature system testing before implementation, and a responsive complaints mechanism to anticipate various obstacles that may arise. ‘Strengthened coordination, more mature system testing, and a responsive complaints mechanism are needed so that the new student admission process can run better, fairly, and provide certainty for the community,’ she concluded. Previously, the West Java Education Office was filled with parents of students complaining about various issues concerning the 2026 New Student Admission Mapping (PCMB) since Monday. The PCMB turmoil culminated in the dismissal of Head of UPTD Education Information and Communication Technology (Tikomdik) Suhendar. The final day of PCMB in the 2026 West Java Student Admission System (SPMB) was marked by a wave of public complaints. Since Monday (8/6/2026) afternoon, dozens of parents sought clarity regarding various technical obstacles in the registration process. The complaints that emerged were quite diverse, ranging from prospective student accounts that had not been verified to confusion among participants who failed the Maung School selection and had to continue registration through the regular pathway. The decision to dismiss Suhendar was taken after West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi personally met with the students’ parents and requested an explanation from the registration system management team, which was deemed the source of various obstacles in the PCMB implementation. ‘Correct. The Head of UPTD Tikomdik is temporarily deactivated for now,’ Dedi said in a statement on Wednesday (10/6/2026).
