DPR Commission III to Summon Prosecutors Regarding Radiet and Fandi Cases
DPR Commission III is highlighting the murder case on Nipah Beach involving Ni Made Vaniradya Puspa Nitra, a student at the University of Mataram (Unram), with Radiet Ardiansyah as the defendant, and the case of smuggling 2 tons of methamphetamine in Batam, Riau Islands, with Fandi Ramadhan as the defendant. DPR Commission III will summon the Mataram District Attorney’s Office and the Batam District Attorney’s Office regarding these two cases.
This was conveyed by the Chairman of DPR Commission III, Habiburokhman, during a public hearing with the families of Radiet and Fandi at the parliament complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday (February 26, 2026). Habiburokhman read out the conclusions of the meeting.
Habiburokhman said that they requested that the handling of the Fandi Ramadhan case apply the principles of justice, as stipulated in Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code.
“DPR Commission III reaffirms the recommendations from the Commission III meeting on February 23, 2026, regarding the handling of the case involving Fandi Ramadhan, to apply the principles of justice in Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code,” said Habiburokhman.
They also requested that the Deputy Attorney General for Supervision reprimand and investigate prosecutor Muhammad Arfian. Habiburokhman reminded prosecutors to be careful in expressing their opinions.
“DPR Commission III requests that the Deputy Attorney General for Supervision reprimand and investigate the Public Prosecutor of the Batam District Attorney’s Office in case number 803/Pid.Sus/2025/PN Btm, involving Muhammad Arfian, to be careful in expressing opinions to the public,” he said.
In addition, DPR Commission III will summon the Chief of Police of North Lombok and the Head of the Mataram District Attorney’s Office regarding the Radiet case. Habiburokhman said that they would also summon investigators from the BNN (National Narcotics Agency) and the Batam District Attorney’s Office in the Fandi case.
“DPR Commission III will summon the Chief of Police of North Lombok and the Head of the Mataram District Attorney’s Office for case number 12/Pid.B/2026/PN Mtr to provide a clear explanation regarding the case being handled,” he said.
“DPR Commission III will summon investigators from the BNN and the Head of the Batam District Attorney’s Office for case number 863/Pid.Sus/2025/PN Btm to provide a clear explanation regarding the case being handled,” Habiburokhman added.
Furthermore, Habiburokhman requested that the Judicial Commission (KY) conduct supervision, especially regarding the handling of these two cases, to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
“DPR Commission III requests that the Judicial Commission conduct supervision of the handling of case number 12/Pid.B/2026/PN Mtr and case number 863/Pid.Sus/2026/PN Btm in accordance with laws and regulations,” he said.
