DPR Commission III States Asset Forfeiture Bill Draft is Still Dynamic and Not Yet Final
A member of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) Commission III, Nasyirul Falah Amru, has emphasised that the draft of the Asset Forfeiture Bill currently circulating in the public domain is not yet a final formulation. Once the drafting process is complete, the Bill will be brought to the DPR Plenary Session to be ratified as a DPR Initiative Bill before being submitted to the President for joint discussion with relevant ministries and Commission III of the DPR through a Working Committee (Panja).
“Therefore, the draft of the Asset Forfeable Bill created by the DPR RI is still dynamic and not fixed; there may be additions or deletions of articles, as well as changes in meaning. Thus, the circulating draft is not final and will still be discussed with the government by Commission III of the DPR in the form of a Working Committee,” Falah stated in a briefing on Wednesday (2/9).
Commonly known as Gus Falah, he emphasised that the substance of the articles remains very open to improvements, including additions, deletions, or adjustments to the material content.
Furthermore, Gus Falah stated that the preparation of the Asset Forfeiture Bill is being conducted openly, involving various elements of society. This regulation has officially become a DPR Initiative Bill included in the 2025–2026 National Legislative Program (Prolegnas).
He explained that the preparation of the academic paper and the draft Bill continues to gather input from academics, practitioners, professional organisations, student organisations, and community organisations.
