DPR Assures Regional Transfer Figures for 2027 Not Yet Final, Pledges Fair Deliberations
The Chairman of Commission XI of the House of Representatives (DPR), Mukhamad Misbakhun, has stressed that the amount for the 2027 Regional Transfer Budget (TKD) has not been finalised. He stated that the official figure is still pending the drafting of the Financial Note and the 2027 State Budget Draft (RAPBN). Misbakhun advised that various circulating figures should be viewed as part of the fiscal policy discussion dynamics rather than a final decision. He urged regional governments to follow the state budget process proportionally. “We understand the aspirations and concerns of regional governments. Commission XI will oversee the 2027 TKD discussion process to ensure the formula remains fair, rational, and aligned with regional development needs,” Misbakhun told reporters on Friday (26/6/2026). He noted that during the 2026 State Budget discussions, the government responded to regional needs by adding Rp43 trillion to the initial draft, bringing the total TKD allocation to Rp693 trillion. Misbakhun argued that the state budget’s alignment with regional interests is not determined by a single budget item alone. He explained that development could be executed through TKD or central government spending, provided the benefits are genuinely felt by the people in the regions. “The most important thing is that the people in the regions receive the benefits of development. The instruments can be discussed, but the final outcome must be tangible, measurable, and address the needs of the community,” Misbakhun concluded.
