DPR Approves Sarjito as OJK Head of Mineral Exchange Supervision
Jakarta - Commission XI of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) has approved Sarjito as Chief Executive of Mineral and Strategic Commodities Exchange Supervision (BMKS) at the Financial Services Authority (OJK).
This was confirmed by Deputy Chairman of Commission XI Mohamad Hekal following an internal meeting at the Parliament complex in Jakarta on Monday (24/8/2026).
“Yes, that is correct, we approved the appointment of Mr Sarjito as Chief Executive of BMKS OJK. The formalisation will take place at the plenary session on Thursday,” Hekal said after the meeting.
Hekal further revealed that Sarjito’s term as Chief Executive of OJK BMKS will run for the 2026-2031 period.
Sarjito was the sole candidate in the selection contest for the position of Chief Executive of Mineral and Strategic Commodities Exchange Supervision. This was confirmed by Speaker of the House Puan Maharani after the second plenary session of the DPR.
Sarjito is no stranger to the OJK. He last served as Deputy Commissioner for Education and Consumer Protection at OJK before retiring in 2024. Prior to his retirement, Sarjito also served as Chairman of the PASTI Task Force.
The majority of his career was spent in the capital market sector. Sarjito previously served as Head of the Formal Investigation and Criminal Bureau at the Capital Market Supervisory Agency under the Ministry of Finance. He also held the role of Deputy Commissioner for Capital Market Supervision at OJK.
Sarjito holds a Bachelor of Laws degree with a specialisation in Legal Practice from the Faculty of Law at the University of Indonesia. He also earned a Bachelor’s degree from the Faculty of Economics at Gadjah Mada University and obtained an MBA in Finance from Saint Louis University in Missouri, United States. He also holds a Professional Notary degree from Jayabaya University.
