The DPR officially approved the revision of the Law on Amendments to Law Number 4 of 2023 concerning the Development and Strengthening of the Financial Sector (P2SK), enacting it into law. The decision was made during the 20th plenary session of the fifth session of the 2025-2026 parliamentary year.

The plenary session was led by Deputy Speaker of the DPR, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, in the plenary hall of the parliament complex, Senayan, Jakarta, on Thursday (4 June 2026). Also in attendance were Deputy Speakers of the DPR, Saan Mustopa, and Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal.

Initially, Dasco invited the leadership of Commission XI of the DPR to present the discussion on the first level of the P2SK Bill. Deputy Chairman of Commission XI, Mohamad Hekal, then read out the report of his commission.

Hekal stated that the bill had been discussed since 4 February 2026, with a number of working meetings with the government having been held. One of the reasons for revising the law is to optimise the financial sector.

“The need for legal reform to optimise the role of the financial sector is the background for the P2SK Law Amendment Bill,” said Hekal in his presentation.

Dasco then asked the members of the Council present about the decision on the second level of the bill. All factions agreed to the revision of the P2SK Law into law.

“We ask for the approval of the factions regarding the Draft Law on Amendments to Law Number 4 of 2023 concerning the Development and Strengthening of the Financial Sector, whether it can be approved to be enacted into law?” said Dasco.

“Agreed,” replied the members in the plenary session, accompanied by the striking of the gavel by the leadership.
