DPR Approves Budget Ceiling, Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment Strengthens Coordination

Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar has stated that the 2027 budget ceiling for the Coordinating Ministry for Community Empowerment will serve as an important instrument to strengthen its coordination role in integrating various community empowerment programmes across ministries and agencies. “In connection with the budget plan we have submitted, with the approval of this proposal, we express our sincere thanks,” said Coordinating Minister Muhaimin Iskandar during a working meeting with the Budget Committee of the Indonesian House of Representatives alongside other coordinating ministers to discuss the 2027 state budget ceiling at the DPR RI office in Senayan, Jakarta, on Monday. During the meeting, chaired by Budget Committee Head Said Abdullah, the committee approved the ministry’s 2027 budget ceiling of Rp620.9 billion. The Coordinating Ministry for Community Empowerment currently holds the mandate to ensure that all development policies have a real impact on improving community welfare, particularly for the poor, extremely poor, and vulnerable groups, as well as to provide and strengthen support for communities to increase productivity and economic independence. This approach aligns with the government’s development direction, which places community empowerment as a primary strategy for reducing poverty and expanding economic opportunities for the people. Minister Muhaimin Iskandar added that the management of the 2027 budget will be directed towards strengthening the ministry’s capacity to oversee the implementation of the community empowerment agenda and to ensure that the benefits of development are felt more evenly by all levels of Indonesian society.
