DPR and Government Finalise Ride-Hailing Presidential Regulation, Target Completion Next Week

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The House of Representatives (DPR) and the government are finalising a presidential regulation concerning online motorcycle taxi (ojol) services, targeted for completion next week.

The DPR held a coordination meeting with government representatives at the Nusantara III Building in the Parliamentary Complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Thursday. The meeting also invited the National Ojol Coalition.

“Today we held another coordination meeting to refine the presidential regulation on ride-hailing, which, thank God, is nearly final. Earlier we agreed that the teams will meet once more before finalising it,” said Deputy Speaker of the DPR Sufmi Dasco Ahmad after the meeting.

He explained that, in addition to discussions with ministries and agencies, the DPR also received input from ride-hailing driver representatives regarding the implementation of the 8 per cent commission tariff since the rule was announced several months ago.

“We received input from them on how the tariff has been running since the 92:8 per cent split was introduced, and its evaluation,” Dasco explained.

Meanwhile, Minister of State Secretariat Prasetyo Hadi said that, based on the accounts of the National Ojol Coalition, the 92:8 per cent revenue-sharing tariff between platforms and drivers had already been applied as of 1 July 2026, even though the presidential regulation has yet to be issued.

Nevertheless, some platforms have not yet implemented the rule. “That is what was conveyed to us as material for refining the contents of the presidential regulation,” the Minister of State Secretariat said.

The DPR and the government plan one more meeting to perfect the regulation. It is targeted for completion next week to provide legal certainty for ride-hailing drivers.

“Next week. So that everything can be finished soon,” Prasetyo said.

The coordination meeting was chaired by Deputy Speaker of the DPR RI Sufmi Dasco Ahmad. Also present as parliamentary representatives were Deputy Speakers Sari Yuliati and Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal.

From the government side, attendees included Minister of State Secretariat Prasetyo Hadi, Minister of Manpower Yassierli, Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi, Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Maman Abdurrahman, and Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian.

Also present were Minister of Law Supratman Andi Agtas, Chief Operating Officer of Danantara and Head of the State-Owned Enterprises Regulatory Body Dony Oskaria, Deputy Minister of Law Eddy Hiariej, Deputy Minister of State Secretariat Bambang Eko Suhariyanto, and Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Nezar Patria.
