DPR and Government Finalise Ride-Hailing Presidential Regulation, Target Completion Next Week

The House of Representatives (DPR) and the government are finalising a presidential regulation on online motorcycle taxis (ojol), targeted for completion next week. A coordination meeting was held at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Thursday, which also invited the National Ojol Coalition. Deputy Speaker of the DPR, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, stated after the meeting that the regulation is nearly complete. “Today we held another coordination meeting to refine the presidential regulation on ojol, which, God willing, is almost final. We agreed that the team will meet once more for finalisation,” he said. Dasco explained that the DPR also received input from ojol driver representatives regarding the implementation of the 92:8 percent commission fee split, which has been in effect for several months. Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi noted that according to the National Ojol Coalition, the 92:8 percent profit-sharing ratio between drivers and applicators has been applied since 1 July 2026, even though the presidential regulation has not yet been issued. However, some applicators have still not implemented the rule. “That is what was conveyed to us as material for perfecting the content of the presidential regulation,” Prasetyo said. The DPR and government plan one more meeting to refine the regulation, aiming to complete it next week to provide legal certainty for ojol drivers. “Next week. So everything can be finished soon,” Prasetyo added. The coordination meeting was chaired by Deputy Speaker Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, with parliamentary representatives including Deputy Speakers Sari Yuliati and Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal. Government officials present included Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Minister of Manpower Yassierli, Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi, Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Maman Abdurrahman, Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, Minister of Law Supratman Andi Agtas, Danantara COO and Head of the SOE Regulatory Body Dony Oskaria, Deputy Minister of Law Eddy Hiariej, Deputy Minister of State Secretary Bambang Eko Suhariyanto, and Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Nezar Patria.
