DPR and Government Finalise Online Transport Presidential Regulation, Covering Passenger and Food Delivery Tariffs

Deputy Speaker of the DPR Sufmi Dasco Ahmad said the DPR, together with several relevant ministries, has finalised the Presidential Regulation on online transport. Dasco said the regulation will not only cover passenger transport but also the delivery of goods and food.

This was conveyed by Dasco after a meeting with the government at the DPR building in Senayan, Jakarta, on Tuesday (18/8/2026). Dasco chaired the meeting together with Deputy Speaker of the DPR Cucun Ahmad Syamsurizal.

“Alhamdulillah, today we have carried out the finalisation because what is regulated is not only the matter of online motorcycle taxi passenger transport, but this has now included the transport of goods and food,” said Dasco.

“Where later the tariffs for goods and food will be regulated by Komdigi and the passenger transport tariffs will be regulated by the Ministry of Transportation, and online transport operators will be supervised or sheltered by the Ministry of SMEs,” he continued.

Dasco said that after the finalisation, the government will carry out a harmonisation process. In that process, he said, the government will involve organisations or representatives of online transport operators as well as platform operators.

“After today’s finalisation, the ministries will carry out harmonisation by involving online transport operators or organisations and then also the platform operators before the Presidential Regulation is issued,” he said.

It is known that the meeting was attended by Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi, Minister of SMEs Maman Abdurrahman, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Bima Arya, and Deputy Minister of Law Eddy Hiariej.
