The government continues its efforts to strengthen the domestic financial sector in order to face global economic uncertainty. The implementation of Law Number 4 of 2023 concerning Financial Sector Development and Strengthening (P2SK) is a strategic step taken by the government to reinforce financial system stability, deepen financial markets, expand financing access, and enhance Indonesia’s competitiveness and ability to attract global investment.

Through P2SK, Indonesia has the opportunity to build a more modern, inclusive, and competitive financial ecosystem. Strengthened coordination between regulators, financial service institutions, and industry players is expected to create a more resilient financial system, bolster the capital market as a source of long-term financing, and drive growth in the real sector and national investment.

Beyond strengthening the financial sector, P2SK also opens opportunities to improve Indonesia’s position in the global value chain through the development of the natural resources ecosystem, the strengthening of the Indonesia Investment Authority (Danantara), and the development of a Mineral Exchange as a step towards making Indonesia a global commodity price reference. Additionally, optimising the role of state-owned enterprise issuers and strategic companies is expected to increase capital market liquidity while supporting the competitiveness and performance of the national stock market.

Financial sector reform through P2SK also serves as momentum to propel Indonesia towards becoming an international financial hub. Supported by innovation, digitalisation, and regulatory certainty, Indonesia has the potential to attract larger global investment flows, strengthen its position as an investment destination, and enhance national economic competitiveness amidst the changing global economic landscape.

To encourage sustainable economic growth amid global uncertainty, CNBC Indonesia held the Investment Forum 2026 with the theme ‘P2SK: Driving Stability, Investment, and Competitiveness in Indonesia’ on Wednesday, 15 July 2026, at the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The event was part of the CNBC Indonesia Economic Update series and brought together regulators, industry players, investors, and stakeholders to discuss the opportunities and challenges of implementing P2SK in strengthening Indonesia’s position in the global financial and economic sector.

The Investment Forum 2026 was opened by the President Director of the Indonesia Stock Exchange, Jeffrey Hendrik, followed by a keynote speech from the Deputy Speaker of the DPR RI, Sari Yuliati, and the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Financial Services Authority (OJK), Friderica Widyasari Dewi. The event continued with a discussion session themed ‘Fiscal and Monetary Harmonisation: Balancing Stability and Growth’ featuring Commission XI DPR RI member Mukhamad Misbakhun, Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, and Senior Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia Destry Damayanti.
