DPR: 2026 Hajj Implementation Experiences Significant Transformative Leap
The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR RI), Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal, stated that the organisation and implementation of the Hajj pilgrimage for 2026 have experienced a significant transformative leap. Comparing current operations to previous years, he noted that this year’s Hajj management has improved, although he admitted that certain unforeseen challenges still occurred.
“We must be honest and state that this year’s Hajj implementation has achieved a transformative leap,” Cucun said at the parliamentary complex in Jakarta on Thursday. “The indicators of Hajj success are Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina; we still have some notes to address.”
He added that the findings from the DPR RI Hajj Oversight Team (Timwas) will be presented during evaluation meetings with policymakers. The results of this evaluation will also be formally submitted during a plenary session of the DPR RI.
Previously, the Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Mochamad Irfan Yusuf, expressed appreciation for all Indonesian Hajj pilgrims, noting their cooperation and discipline in following official instructions during the Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina phases. The peak phase of the Hajj pilgrimage in Mina officially concluded on 13 Zulhijjah 1447 H. All Indonesian pilgrims who opted for ‘nafar tsani’ have safely and orderly left the tents in Mina and returned to their respective hotels in Makkah.
