Jakarta (ANTARA) - DPLK Syariah Muamalat has introduced a pension programme for mosque activists as a solution to improve community welfare through a collaboration with the Tazkia Islamic Centre (TIC) mosque.

Executive Director of DPLK Syariah Muamalat, Aznovri Kurniawan, stated in Jakarta on Monday that this synergy is a follow-up to the memorandum of understanding between the Indonesian Mosque Council (DMI) and the Association of Financial Institution Pension Funds (ADPLK).

The agreement aims to improve the welfare of mosque activists, such as marbots (mosque caretakers), takmir (mosque administrators), and officials across Indonesia, through the provision of pension programmes. The Greater Jakarta (Jabodetabek) area has been selected as the pilot project for this initiative.

“DPLK Syariah Muamalat is organising the Pension Programme for Mosque Activists as an expression of our concern for improving their welfare. We highly appreciate the Tazkia Islamic Centre as a pioneer in this programme. God willing, this will be a real effort to benefit mosque activists who dedicate themselves to the path of dawah and community service,” said Aznovri.

“Retirement preparation for mosque activists has been part of our programme. Therefore, we express our appreciation to DPLK Syariah Muamalat for socialising this programme, allowing us to realise this plan today,” he added.

The company stated that the pension programme for mosque activists, such as marbots, takmir, and administrators, can provide financial certainty and independence in their old age.

The initiative by DMI and ADPLK is also expected to serve as an inspiration to expand access to Sharia pension funds, particularly for the informal sector.
