JAKARTA — Bank Mega Syariah has distributed more than 2,800 packages of basic necessities to disadvantaged residents located near the company’s office network throughout Indonesia.

According to a written statement issued on Friday 13 March 2026, the distribution of this aid forms part of the bank’s annual programme entitled Mega Syariah Berbagi, which is regularly held during the holy month of Ramadan.

The programme aims to strengthen the company’s social awareness whilst supporting communities in need across the bank’s various operational areas.

The aid is sourced from voluntary donations by employees as part of efforts to strengthen a culture of sharing within the workplace.

Bank Mega Syariah management stated that such social activities represent one way the bank implements Islamic values in its corporate operations, including building awareness towards surrounding communities.

The Mega Syariah Berbagi programme is carried out with the involvement of Bank Mega Syariah’s office network across various regions.

The basic necessities distributed are expected to help meet the fundamental needs of disadvantaged people during Ramadan.

Meanwhile, assistance for orphaned children is derived from voluntary donations collected from Bank Mega Syariah employees. This initiative is described as part of strengthening the culture of sharing within the company.

Bank Mega Syariah believes that employee involvement in social activities can foster a sense of togetherness whilst increasing the company’s genuine contribution to society.

Growth in DPK (customer deposits) is attributed to the company’s commitment to facilitating access to ZISWAF services (zakat, infaq, sadaqah and waqf) through the digital M-Syariah platform.

The digital service enables customers to conduct various Islamic financial social transactions more conveniently, including the distribution of donations and payment of zakat obligations.

Bank Mega Syariah stated that the development of digital services forms part of its strategy to expand service reach and increase public participation in Islamic financial activities.
