Jakarta – The Chairman of the Regional Representative Council (DPD RI), Sultan Baktiar Najamudin, has confirmed that all preparations for the MPR Annual Session and the Joint Session commemorating the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia are proceeding optimally. He stated that simulations and full dress rehearsals have been completed and are ready to be executed. “Everything has been prepared, from the first to the final rehearsals. The full dress rehearsal has just concluded, and preparations are 90 percent complete, involving all stakeholders. The event rundown has also been well measured,” said Sultan, accompanied by DPD RI Deputy Chairman Tamsil Linrung, after inspecting the readiness at the Nusantara Building of the Parliament Complex in Jakarta.

As the host of this year’s event, the DPD RI is carrying the tagline ‘Strong Regions, Sovereign Indonesia,’ which aligns with the national theme. Sultan emphasised that the foundation of Indonesia’s strength lies in the unity of all its regions. “The main key to the nation’s strength lies in unity. Indonesia will be sovereign if all its regions are strong and solid,” he stated.

In addition to technical preparations, Sultan expressed full support for the appeal made by the Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR RI), Puan Maharani, regarding the importance of maintaining proper conduct during the session. He reminded members that the DPD RI and DPR RI are part of the MPR RI family, making it essential for all members to uphold the dignity and ethics of the high state institution. “It is only proper that we maintain that attitude and ethics,” he added.

Sultan expressed hope that the event would proceed safely, smoothly, and solemnly, without any incidents or excessive actions that could create negative public perceptions. To reinforce the spirit of nationalism, the series of events will also feature nationalistic and patriotic songs. “Through this thorough preparation, the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia is expected to be a valuable momentum to strengthen the unity of all elements of the nation,” Sultan concluded.
