DPD RI Chairman Reveals 90% Preparation for Joint Session, Here's the Agenda
DPD RI Chairman Sultan Bachtiar Najamudin has said that preparations for the MPR Annual Session and the DPR-DPD Joint Session (STSB) have reached 90 percent. Sultan conveyed that the tagline for this year’s STSB is ‘Strong Regions, Sovereign Indonesia’.
This was stated by Sultan after reviewing the dress rehearsal in the MPR/DPR/DPD RI plenary hall at the Nusantara Building, Senayan, Jakarta, on Thursday (13/8/2026). He noted that the DPD is serving as host for the 2026 Joint Session series.
“There have been rehearsals, the first and second rehearsals, yesterday the technical rehearsal, and the dress rehearsal has just finished for the Annual Session and Joint Session series. So preparations are already more than 90 percent, one could say they are complete because all relevant stakeholders have been involved, from the State Secretariat, the Palace, and also the Presidential Security Detail,” said Sultan.
He asked every people’s representative to maintain proper ethics and conduct. He expressed hope that tomorrow’s Joint Session would proceed smoothly and solemnly.
“The MPR consists of the DPR and the DPD. As members of parliament, as representatives of the people, it is only proper that we maintain that ethics and conduct. But beyond that, personally we must also uphold it,” said Sultan.
“So we hope that this Annual Session and Joint Session truly proceeds solemnly, in an orderly, safe and smooth manner, because this is part of the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia. So even though it is festive, it should remain solemn,” he continued.
