Registration for the DPD RI Awards 2026 has been open since 27 July and will close on 21 August 2026 at 11.59 pm Western Indonesia Time. Members of the public may nominate individuals deemed worthy of recognition through the official website http://awards.dpd.go.id.

This year, the DPD Awards will reach a greater number of inspiring figures. The public and detikcom readers are invited to submit nominations.

“Learning from last year’s event, DPD RI has made a number of improvements so that this year’s DPD Awards can reach more inspiring figures from various regions, from more planned preparations to more specific award categories focused on individuals,” DPD RI stated in an official release on Tuesday (11/8/2026).

This year, the DPD RI Awards covers four fields: Education, Health, Arts and Culture, and Food Security.

“In the field of Education, the award is given to Innovators in Non-formal Education/Out-of-School Education who are dedicated to developing non-formal education and expanding learning opportunities for the public. The Health field features the Health Technology Innovator category for individuals, professionals, and academics who produce innovations through clinical or laboratory research, including the discovery of medicines, therapeutic devices, and medical equipment that benefit society,” DPD RI stated.

Meanwhile, the Arts and Culture field recognises Preservers of Regional Culture who actively develop and preserve regional culture and introduce it at national and international levels. The Food Security field is aimed at Drivers of Food Self-Sufficient Villages who promote food independence through the use of local food potential, community empowerment, and strengthening sustainable food security.

DPD RI is also once again presenting Special Recognition Awards for figures, individuals, or groups who have made consistent and sustainable contributions to their regions.

“Through the DPD RI Awards 2026, DPD RI hopes that more figures who have worked and contributed to society will receive appreciation while also serving as inspiration for other regions,” DPD RI concluded.

Chairman of DPD RI Sultan B Najamudin said the DPD Award is held to provide a platform of honour for inspiring figures from various regions who have been working and contributing in tangible ways without national public attention.

“Through this event, DPD RI wants to emphasise that the strength of Indonesia’s development rests on the initiative and hard work of communities throughout the archipelago, not only on the central government and major cities,” Sultan said during the 2025 DPD Awards.

Sultan also explained that the award reflects the aspirations of the people that DPD RI champions at the central level. He reminded that DPD RI members are direct representatives of regional interests who bring the people’s voice into national policy.

According to him, there are still many community figures who are in fact drivers of change and progress in various strategic sectors but have not received adequate appreciation.

“Several categories deserve to be given to regional figures or local leaders whose contributions are quite significant,” he said.

The contributions of the candidates and finalists, Sultan continued, cover the education, social, health, tourism, creative economy, cultural, and environmental conservation sectors. The DPD Awards are expected to strengthen the spirit of these figures to continue inspiring and expanding the impact of their work in society.
