DPD RI Appreciates Central Government's Consistency in Allocating Transfer to Regions Funds

Jakarta (ANTARA) - DPD RI Chairman Sultan B Najamudin has expressed appreciation for the central government’s consistency in allocating central government spending for Transfer to Daerah (TKD) funds.

“DPD RI appreciates the substantial central government spending allocated to regions and villages through priority programmes,” said Najamudin while delivering his introductory speech at the 2026 Annual Session of the MPR RI and the Joint Session of the DPR-DPD RI at the parliamentary complex in Jakarta on Friday.

He stated that the policy of adjusting TKD funds must continue to consider the needs and capabilities of regions in providing basic services, such as education, health, and infrastructure.

According to him, TKD funds are not merely budget allocations, but rather an instrument for economic growth and equitable development.

However, with the efficiency policy or adjustment of TKD funds, Najamudin reminded regional governments of the need to improve their revenue innovation.

“Therefore, regional governments need to enhance revenue innovation, spending effectiveness, and the quality of development planning,” he said.

On Friday, the MPR RI, DPR RI, and DPD RI held the Annual Session of the MPR RI and the Joint Session of the DPR RI-DPD RI, one of the agendas of which was President Prabowo Subianto’s speech for the delivery of the Performance Report of State Institutions and the State Address of the President of the Republic of Indonesia in the context of the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia.

In addition to the speech, the government will also screen a video of government performance achievements.

This annual session is a state agenda to welcome the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia, which carries the theme “Indonesia Berdaulat, Adil, dan Makmur” (A Sovereign, Just, and Prosperous Indonesia).
