DPD PDI-P East Java: US-Israel Attack on Iran Violates the UN Charter

East Java DPD PDI-P’s Deputy Chairman for Religious Affairs and Faith in God Almighty (YME), Abdul Wahab Yahya, described the US and Israel’s attack on Iran as an act that breaches the UN Charter. He said the action has wounded Iran’s dignity as a sovereign state. ‘Because, whether they like it or not, Iran’s dignity has been trampled by Israel and the US, who, ignorant of the situation, bombed without any consideration. That means it violates the UN Charter,’ Abdul Wahab said during the Nuzulul Quran event on Thursday, 5 March 2026, held at the DPD PDI-P Jatim office in Surabaya. ‘I am following the instructions of Bu Mega; she regrets the conflict currently happening between Iran and the US and Israel,’ he added. Considering the conflict, the DPD PDI-P Jatim is seeking blessing and praying for peace for the countries involved by organising the Nuzulul Quran.

Said Abdullah, Chairman of the DPD PDI-P Jatim, said the Nuzulul Quran activity aimed to obtain blessings during the holy month of Ramadan. ‘Why does PDI-P invite 500 orphans? It’s not because the party bestows blessings, but we all want to receive blessings from the orphans,’ he said. ‘Therefore, let us pray together so that PDI-P Jatim can hold Nuzulul Quran every year. Inshallah in any circumstance, we will always place mothers and orphans in a place of honour for PDI-P,’ he added. Said also noted the activity aligns with PDI-P’s ideology as the ‘wong cilik’ party (the small people) by always providing places, space, and opportunities for the common people. ‘Hopefully this Ramadan won’t be the last for us. Inshallah we will meet at Ramadan next year and pray for long life for each other,’ he concluded.
