JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Vice Chairman of DPD RI, Tamsil Linrung, appreciated President Prabowo Subianto’s speech concerning the Macro Economic Framework (KER) and the Core Policy of Fiscal Policy (PPKF) for the RAPBN 2027, during the Plenary Session of the DPR RI, Jakarta, Wednesday (20 May 2026).

Tamsil regards the speech as an expression of commitment to the people, regional areas, and the ideals of the Pancasila economy.

“This is not merely an annual fiskal (fiscal) speech, but a reaffirmation of the ideological direction of national development,” he told reporters at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, on Wednesday (20 May 2026).

He says Indonesia needs an economic model that provides space for innovation and competition. On the other hand, the state also plays a role as protector of the people and guardian of equitable distribution.

“The President is emphasising that the state must not be absent. The market needs to grow, the business world needs to develop, but the state must ensure that the fruits of development are not enjoyed only by those who are already powerful,” he said.

He views the concept as an effort to strengthen collaboration among the state, private sector, cooperatives, micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and the community to build a more inclusive economy.

He stressed that opportunities in the economic sector should not be enjoyed by only a small elite.

“We need development that is just, especially for regions that have long been the backbone of national resources but have not fully enjoyed development results proportionally,” he said.

Specifically, Tamsil urged the Himbara banks to immediately follow up the President’s directives in concrete and measurable terms.

He also believed that state banks should not merely be business institutions chasing profits but should be instruments of social development and economic equality.

“The President is right when he says that such a situation is already beyond reason. MSMEs, farmers, fishers, and young entrepreneurs must receive priority financing. They are the foundation of the national economy and also the main lifeblood of regional economies,” he continued.
