DPD Invites Jusuf Kalla to Annual MPR Session: Gathering National Figures

The Speaker of the Regional Representative Council (DPD), Sultan Najamudin, visited the residence of former Vice President Jusuf Kalla in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, on Wednesday to deliver an invitation to the Annual MPR Session scheduled for 14 August. Sultan stated that the DPD leadership deliberately visited and hand-delivered invitations to national figures, particularly former presidents and vice presidents. He noted that the DPD is hosting the session this year and will co-chair the joint sitting. Sultan described the event as a fitting momentum to invite and bring together national figures as part of the 81st Independence Day celebrations. He added that President Prabowo is expected to deliver a state address during the session. Jusuf Kalla confirmed his readiness to attend as a guest, expressing his intention to listen directly to President Prabowo Subianto’s state address, which he considers an important opportunity to hear the nation’s vision and the government’s future programme plans.
