Jakarta (ANTARA) - DPD RI Chairman Sultan B Najamudin stated that President Prabowo Subianto’s presence in attending Eid al-Fitr prayers on 1 Syawal 1447 Hijriah/2026 CE amidst the flood disaster victims in Aceh Tamiang, Aceh, conveys a message of empathy and the state’s presence during difficult times.

“The President ensures that the state, through the government he leads, is committed to bringing hope, sharing joy, and sharing in the sorrow of the community who became flood victims on Eid al-Fitr,” said Sultan in Jakarta on Saturday.

He also expressed appreciation to Prabowo for his activities. According to him, the flash flood incident in Sumatra last December caused many victims, leaving many people feeling a sense of loss.

“I think this is a rare event and the first time in the history of national leadership that a President of the Republic of Indonesia is willing to be present to perform Eid al-Fitr prayers together with disaster victims in the region,” he said.

“We see that efforts to reconstruct infrastructure are continuously being pursued by the central government. Similarly, additional budget support to the affected local governments,” he said.

Meanwhile, the 8th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, performed Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah prayers with residents at Masjid Darussalam, Aceh Tamiang Regency, Aceh, on Saturday.

Observed through the live broadcast of the Presidential Secretariat from Jakarta on Saturday, President Prabowo arrived at the mosque around 07:20 WIB wearing a white koko shirt, black trousers, and a black peci.
