DPA ready to dissolve: Chairman

JAKARTA: The Supreme Advisory Council (DPA) is ready to
dissolve itself as soon as the law on its dissolution is enacted,
DPA chairman Achmad Titosudiro said on Wednesday.

"We understand that perhaps the House and the government are
still pre-occupied with the newly endorsed bills, therefore we
are willing to wait," Achmad was quoted by Antara as saying on
Wednesday.

Members of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR), the
country's highest legislative body, agreed in their annual
meeting last year to dissolve DPA and replace it with an advisory
institution to be established by the president.

Achmad said that he had met with several ministers to discuss
the future of current DPA employees. He did not elaborate.
