Dozens of Street Lights in Pemuda Rawamangun Relit After Electricity Panel Theft
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The East Jakarta Public Works Sub-department has confirmed that 50 street lights on Jalan Pemuda, Rawamangun, Pulo Gadung District, have been relit after repairs. Previously, an act of theft on the electricity panel caused the area to be dark at night.
“We quickly took action to repair the street lights on Jalan Pemuda, Rawamangun, Pulo Gadung District, East Jakarta, since Friday (15/5/2026). The repairs were carried out after dozens of street lights in the area went out due to an act of theft on the electricity panel,” said Head of the City Infrastructure and Public Lighting Section of the East Jakarta Public Works Sub-department, Yanuar Ikhsan, when confirmed on Sunday (17/5/2026).
A total of 50 street lights with a power of 90 watts and 120 watts were affected and not functioning. This condition made the Jalan Pemuda road dark at night and it was feared that it could disrupt the comfort and safety of road users.
Yanuar said that his party immediately carried out patrols and inspections at the location after receiving reports of street lights going out. From the results of the inspection in the field, it was found that the dozens of street lights were extinguished due to an act of theft on the electricity panel which regulated the operation of the street lighting.
