Dozens of soldiers reprimanded

BOGOR (JP): Dozens of Armed Forces (ABRI) personnel have been reprimanded for violating military regulations, Commander of the Bogor Military Regional Command Brig. Gen. Eddi Budianto said yesterday.

The negligent individuals were rounded up in an operation on Jl. Raya Bogor-Jakarta, Cibinong district, on Tuesday, Eddi said. He did not reveal the exact number of people caught in the operation.

ABRI personnel were reprimanded for not wearing the correct military attributes, carrying hand guns without the necessary certificates, and driving vehicles while not in possession of the correct documents, he said after a ceremony held at Sempur field.

"I will not tolerate ABRI personnel violating regulations. I will not hesitate to take stern measures against them," he said.

Agus Haryadi, Bogor Military Police commander, who accompanied Eddi at the ceremony, urged the public to inform his office if they became aware of ABRI members flouting existing rules.

"Please inform the Military Police Office by phoning 125," he said. (24/hhr)
