JAKARTA — Dozens of micro, small, and medium enterprises (UMKM) mentored by the Council of Ulama Indonesia (MUI) received training during a seminar titled “UMKM Tangguh 2026: Digital Finance Acceleration, Cyber Security, and Zero Waste-Based Sustainable Business” in Jakarta recently.

MCG Academy, part of Marx Consulting Group (MCG), organised the seminar to serve as a crucial platform for UMKM operators. They were trained to enhance business capacity and competitiveness in the digital transformation era, effectively manage digital finances, raise awareness of cyber security in digital markets, and strengthen understanding of investment and sustainable business management.

The event, opened by Assistant Deputy Minister of UMKM Muhammad Firdaus, was a collaboration between CIMB Niaga Syariah, LPEU MUI, and Marx Consulting Group. Marx Andryan, MCG founder, stated: “UMKMs are not only drivers of economic activity but also sources of employment, income distribution, and other factors supporting national business operations. This aligns with the government’s people’s economy programme, which relies on community and small business strength.”

The UMKM Tangguh 2026 series, a collaboration between MCG Academy and LPEU MUI’s mentored UMKMs, is sponsored exclusively by CIMB Niaga Syariah, which demonstrated its OctoSyariah mobile banking features.

The first batch included 40 participants from various sectors such as food, snacks, juices, catering, and knitwear. They received training on production standardisation, digital financial management, cyber security, basic UMKM management applications, simple financial planning, and building “mental toughness”.

MCG Academy is confident of reaching a target of 1,000 UMKMs in subsequent batches. Marx Andryan added that improving financial literacy through such training is crucial for creating a productive, independent, and competitive society, enabling small businesses to grow sustainably. “Over 90% of businesses are UMKMs. Therefore, MCG Academy aims to support them in scaling up, strengthening Indonesia’s economic foundation in line with LPEU MUI’s vision and mission,” he said.
