Dozens of Inafis Personnel Process Crime Scene of Sade Traditional Village Fire
Members of the West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Regional Police and Central Lombok Police are conducting a crime scene investigation to determine the cause of a fire that occurred in the Sade Traditional Village, Rembitan Village, Pujut District. Police said the trigger of the incident is still being investigated.
Monitoring by detikBali at the scene showed dozens of personnel from the Indonesia Automatic Fingerprint Identification System (Inafis) team of the NTB Regional Police and Central Lombok Police taking photographs and hearing statements from victims. Police lines have been stretched across several sections. A number of officials were also seen inspecting the location, including Central Lombok Regent Lalu Pathul Bahri, Deputy Regent HM Nursiah and others.
“Yes, this is a joint team from the Regional Police and the Resort Police, and we plan to request backup from Bali,” said Central Lombok Police Chief, Senior Commissioner Hariyanto, to detikBali while inspecting the scene on Sunday (23/6/2026).
Hariyanto could not yet say much about the cause of the fire. “Until now, not yet. We will wait for the results of this,” he stressed.
Hariyanto explained that from last night until today, his office has deployed around 100 personnel from a joint team of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), National Police (Polri) and regional government. They will be on standby to evacuate and secure the area.
“In total, there is approximately one company of 100 people, from the TNI-Polri and regional government. Including area security,” he stressed.
Previously, Central Lombok Regent Lalu Pathul Bahri provided health and education guarantees for all residents affected by the fire in the Sade Traditional Village. The regional government considers the incident a disaster that must become a shared concern.
“Today we have discussed with the Military District Commander, Police Chief, Deputy Regent and all relevant agencies about this issue,” said Pathul.
He stressed that the focus is currently on handling the affected residents, starting with setting up emergency tents and logistics in front of the Rembitan Village Office and providing trauma healing assistance from the Health Office.
“The Education Office is also collecting data on the number of affected students. Everyone is taking part,” added Pathul.
His office has also begun identifying victims. Moreover, residents have started evacuating to their relatives’ homes, so it is important to anticipate infectious diseases such as vomiting and diarrhoea.
“Because people have moved to residents’ homes, this is also a concern. Because this is related to health, the lesson from last year is that health is the most important because vomiting and diarrhoea often occur,” he explained.
Pathul stressed that the trigger of the disaster is being identified by the authorities. “This is being identified by the Inafis team of the NTB Regional Police and Central Lombok Police. We are focusing on handling first,” he stressed.
