Dozens of Fire Trucks Deployed to LPG Bulk Filling Station Fire in Cimuning
Dozens of fire trucks were deployed to the fire site at the SPBE in Cimuning, Mustikajaya, Bekasi, on Wednesday (1/4). Acting Head of the Bekasi City Fire Department, Heriyanto, stated that firefighting efforts are still ongoing by the personnel. Meanwhile, a local resident, Bayu, mentioned that the fire spread to the surrounding residential areas. When the fire was large, the house occupants evacuated first. Several loud explosions occurred, causing panic in the area. The reported injured victims have been taken to the hospital for medical treatment. Previously, a loud explosion rocked the Cimuning area in Bekasi City on Wednesday night. The blast was accompanied by high flames and thick black smoke visible from a distance. A resident of Bekasi Timur Regency (BTR), Catur Prima Sari, said the source of the explosion was suspected to come from the Stasiun Pengisian Bulk Elpiji (SPBE) facility, located not far from the Bekasi Timur Regency (BTR) housing complex, Jalan Cinyosog, Cimuning, Mustikajaya, Bekasi City. βThe sound was very loud, and a large fire was seen from the direction of the SPBE near the BTR housing,β said Catur. Another resident, Nur Estiningtyas, stated that the fire has not yet been extinguished up to now. She also claimed to still hear several follow-up explosions from her home, which is not far from the incident site.
