Dozens of Couples Face Cancelled Weddings Following Alleged Rp 2.4 Billion Wedding Organiser Fraud in Bandung

Dozens of couples are facing the possibility of cancelled weddings after allegedly falling victim to a fraud scheme orchestrated by a wedding organiser (WO) in Bandung Regency. The total losses incurred by the victims are estimated to reach Rp 2.4 billion. The affected parties have officially reported the case to the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate of the West Java Regional Police.

One of the victims, Sunsun, stated that he and dozens of other victims approached the West Java Regional Police to report the organiser suspected of fraud. He noted that several victims have formed a WhatsApp group to coordinate their response to the issue.

“There are reports from several friends where it has been proven that fraud occurred regarding the execution of their weddings, which cannot proceed because the wedding organiser failed to make payments to the promised vendors,” he said on Saturday (6/6/2026).

Sunsun revealed that he is scheduled to marry his partner, Wulan, on 21 June 2026. Many other victims are also scheduled to wed in the near future. However, they began to notice suspicious activity regarding their arrangements.

“Several prospective brides and grooms have confirmed with the vendors previously promised by the wedding organiser, and indeed, no payments or down payments have been made for those dates,” he added.
