Jakarta — Dozens of combined personnel from various government agencies have been deployed to maintain security and facilitate the 2026 Lebaran homecoming (Idul Fitri 1447 Hijriah) at Kampung Rambutan Terminal in East Jakarta.

“More than 40 combined personnel from different agencies are on duty guarding Kampung Rambutan Terminal during this 2026 Lebaran exodus, working in different shifts and hours,” said Revi Zulkarnain, Head of Kampung Rambutan Terminal, at the terminal on Sunday.

The security operation aims to ensure that homebound travellers can make their journeys safely and comfortably during the Lebaran transport period.

Zulkarnain stated that three integrated command posts have been established to serve as information centres and security surveillance points for passengers. Various officials have been positioned at these posts to provide information services, assist passengers, and conduct security monitoring in the terminal area, which is one of the major departure points for homebound travellers in East Jakarta.

Police personnel conduct patrols, surveillance, and anticipate potential security disturbances during the mudik exodus. Additionally, military personnel from the East Jakarta Military Sub-District Command (Kodim) and Pasar Rebo Military Sector Command (Koramil), along with Personnel from the 201 Battalion, assist in maintaining security at the terminal.

The daily deployment includes approximately 40 police personnel, 13 military personnel, and around 10 transport officials responsible for regulating traffic and vehicle operations within the terminal.

Zulkarnain emphasised that the coordination among these different agencies ensures all mudik activities at Kampung Rambutan Terminal proceed in an orderly, safe, and smooth manner. He expressed hope that with this integrated security approach, homebound travellers departing through the terminal can feel more assured and comfortable during their journey home to celebrate Lebaran with their families.

Passenger numbers departing from Kampung Rambutan Terminal have continued to increase in recent days. On 11 March, 587 passengers departed using 68 buses. By 14 March, passenger numbers increased to 2,303 with 154 buses operating. By midday on the reporting day, approximately 2,200 passengers had been recorded, with numbers expected to continue rising through the evening.

As passenger numbers grow, the terminal management ensures passenger services continue smoothly, including bus departure arrangements and passenger comfort. Zulkarnain urged homebound travellers to arrive earlier than their scheduled departure time and ensure their tickets are ready to facilitate more orderly departures amid the increasing Lebaran exodus this year.
