The Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) of Jatinegara sub-district, East Jakarta, seized dozens of bird cages belonging to a resident on Jalan Otista Dalam, RT 14/RW 08, Bidara Cina, East Jakarta.

Head of the Satpol PP for Jatinegara sub-district, Teguh Nurdin Amali, stated that officers secured 25 homing pigeons along with their cages during the enforcement action.

The enforcement was carried out following complaints from residents who were disturbed by the presence of the bird cages.

Teguh explained that local residents had previously attempted to communicate with the bird owner regarding the complaints. However, the owner was deemed uncooperative.

Regarding the seized birds, Teguh mentioned that they would be handed over to the East Jakarta Food Security, Maritime, and Agriculture Agency (KPKP).

“The birds that were enforced upon fall under the authority of the KPKP. After being seized, they will be released or repurposed, but clearly, they will not be returned to the owner,” he said.
