Downtime Remains Key Challenge for IT Industry Relying on Digital Systems
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Downtime, or periods when systems cannot be accessed, frequently becomes a challenge in the information technology (IT) industry that relies on digital systems.
“In a business environment that increasingly depends on digital systems, downtime no longer only affects IT systems, but also the operational continuity of companies,” said VP of Marketing of Biznet Gio, Hari Syah Agam, in an official statement in Jakarta on Sunday.
Hari said that as the acceleration of transformation towards smart manufacturing continues, companies increasingly rely on digital systems to support production and operational processes.
On the other hand, growing dependence on applications and data makes downtime a challenge that can disrupt productivity and cause business losses.
The True Cost of Downtime 2024 report noted that large factories in the industrial sectors studied could potentially suffer losses of up to USD253 million per year due to unplanned downtime.
These losses include halted production processes, lost revenue, labour costs, emergency repairs, and delayed order fulfilment.
Therefore, he said, the industry is now turning to hybrid cloud. This aligns with the findings of the Flexera 2026 State of the Cloud Report, which stated that 73 percent of organisations have adopted hybrid cloud.
In response to these needs, Biznet Gio has collaborated with Rainer Server, part of Indo Mega Vision (IMV), to introduce GIO Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure. The solution integrates cloud and on-premise environments to help companies build more resilient infrastructure while maintaining operational continuity.

He said that as part of the solution’s implementation, Biznet Gio is collaborating with Indo Mega Vision through its Rainer Server product line to deliver on-premise infrastructure integrated with Biznet Gio’s cloud services.
