Downtime Remains Key Challenge for IT Industry Relying on Digital Systems
Downtime, or the period when a system is inaccessible, often remains a major obstacle in the Information Technology (IT) industry that relies on digital systems. In a business environment increasingly dependent on digital systems, downtime no longer only impacts IT systems but also the operational continuity of a company, said Biznet VP of Marketing Gio Hari Syah Agam in an official statement in Jakarta on Sunday. Hari noted that as the transformation towards smart manufacturing accelerates, companies are relying more heavily on digital systems to support production and operational processes. On the other hand, the growing dependence on applications and data makes the risk of downtime a challenge that can disrupt productivity and lead to business losses. The True Cost of Downtime 2024 report recorded that the average large factory in the industrial sectors studied potentially faces losses of up to USD 253 million per year due to unplanned downtime. These losses include halted production processes, lost revenue, labour costs, emergency repairs, and delays in order fulfilment. Consequently, he stated that the industry is now beginning to look towards hybrid cloud solutions. This aligns with the findings of the Flexera 2026 State of the Cloud Report, which noted that 73 percent of organisations have adopted Hybrid Cloud. Addressing this need, Biznet Gio is collaborating with Rainer Server, part of Indo Mega Vision (IMV), to present the GIO Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure. This solution integrates cloud and on-premise environments to help companies build more resilient infrastructure while maintaining operational continuity. GIO Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure helps companies build a layer of redundancy so that operations do not depend on a single infrastructure environment, he said. The GIO Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure is supported by an uptime SLA of up to 99.9 percent and security standards that have met ISO 27001, PCI DSS, and AICPA SOC certifications. He added that as part of the solution implementation, Biznet Gio is collaborating with Indo Mega Vision through the Rainer Server product line to provide on-premise infrastructure integrated with Biznet Gio’s cloud services. Indo Mega Vision Managing Director Sugiyanto Sutikno highlighted that in the digital era, operational continuity and infrastructure flexibility are key. Through the collaboration between Rainer Server and Biznet Gio, we are delivering a Hybrid Cloud solution that combines on-premise reliability with cloud scalability to guarantee resilience and efficiency in corporate IT investment, said Sugiyanto.
