Downstream Processing Not Just About Attracting Large Investments, Says Deputy Investment Minister
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Deputy Minister of Investment and Downstream Processing, who also serves as Deputy Head of BKPM, Todotua Pasaribu, has affirmed that downstream processing is not merely about attracting large-scale investment, but also about creating added value from Indonesia's natural resource wealth.
According to him, the government has now designated 28 strategic commodities as the focus of its downstream processing programme. The government has also introduced a policy to cease the export of raw materials from the natural resources and agricultural sectors.
Todotua noted that investment in the downstream processing sector has shown consistent growth year on year.
