Dossiers on embassy bombing submitted
JAKARTA (JP): City police criminal investigation chief Sr. Supt. Harry Montolalu said on Friday that his office had submitted all dossiers on the Aug. 27 grenade explosion at the Malaysian Embassy compound to the Jakarta Prosecutor's office.
The dossiers, comprising three separate documents, named six people as suspects in the incident, the officer said, but gave no details about the suspects identities.
No one was injured in the blast that occurred at about 10 p.m. in the Kuningan area, home to many foreign embassies.
The first package of the dossiers, Harry said, was about the suspects' illegal possession of hand grenades, while the other dossiers consisted of all evidence and witness accounts.
A previous police document disclosed the names of 10 suspects in the case. They were identified as Iwan Setiawan, Saipan, Udin, Ibrahim A. Manaf, Said Adnan, Yuda, Iswadi, and another man also called Iswadi, and two military personnel named Ibrahim Hasan and M. Yusuf.
Half of the suspects were also named as suspects in the Sept. 13 bomb explosion at the Jakarta Stock Exchange (JSX) building which killed 11 and injured dozens others. (jaw)
