Doohan says Adelaide circuit will be a fantastic venue

Jakarta (ANTARA) – MotoGP legend Mick Doohan believes the Adelaide circuit in Australia will become a fantastic venue.

“Adelaide will be an incredible event overall, while the competition on track will be as thrilling as ever,” Mick Doohan was quoted as saying by the MotoGP website on Tuesday.

The Adelaide circuit is currently being redeveloped, at a cost equivalent to Rp1.2 trillion, on the site of a former Formula 1 circuit.

The 4.13-kilometre circuit, located in central Adelaide, is due to join the official MotoGP calendar from the 2027 season through to 2032.

“For the city, it will be incredible. Every event they hold across the city and state gets everyone behind it to make it a wonderful occasion,” added Doohan, who recently received a MotoGP Hall of Fame award.

Doohan believes MotoGP brings its own unique energy. The championship’s combination of world-class athletes, remarkable machinery and close racing has made it one of the most compelling spectacles in sport, and he expects Adelaide to provide the perfect stage for that excitement to shine.
