JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com — The Head of the SOE Ministry and COO of Danantara Indonesia, Dony Oskaria, has emphasised the strategic role of SOEs in supporting the direction of President Prabowo Subianto’s leadership, which focuses on fundamental and equitable economic growth.

He also called on all SOE personnel, as part of the state apparatus, to actively bridge communication between the government and society, particularly in explaining the economic policies being implemented.

“I want to remind everyone in this room of one thing on this good occasion: we are all civil servants; we are part of the government,” Dony stated in a video clip from the Pertamina event this week, as quoted by Kompas.com on Tuesday (21/4/2026).

According to him, this role is important amid the emergence of negative sentiments towards the government in public spaces. Therefore, SOE employees are expected to be at the forefront in providing complete and comprehensive explanations regarding state policies.

“As part of the government, I truly hope that all SOE personnel can provide clarification and explain why the government is implementing these policies,” he said.

“It is impossible for a government, especially one led by President Prabowo who is willing to sacrifice his life for the nation, to do something that is not good,” Dony added.

He stressed that understanding the basis of policies is key to avoiding misunderstandings in society.

“If we understand the reasoning behind it, why it is done, we will know that it is indeed necessary to create a brighter future for our nation,” he said.

The government, he stated, aims to ensure that economic growth can be felt by all of society through strengthening food and energy resilience, as well as human resource development as the main pillars of national development.

In this context, SOEs are expected not only to carry out business functions but also to act as a bridge of information between the government and the public.

This role is deemed important so that economic policies can be understood holistically as efforts to strengthen economic sovereignty and improve societal welfare.
