JAKARTA - The government has taken a major step to strengthen the national trade ecosystem. The State-Owned Enterprise Management Agency (BP BUMN) and Danantara Indonesia held a strategic meeting to establish a more professional and integrated national export state-owned enterprise (SOE).

Dony Oskaria, Chief of BP BUMN and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Danantara Indonesia, outlined discussions on strengthening the structure of PT Danantara Sumberdaya Indonesia (DSI) as the spearhead of national exports.

“The government continues to strengthen the national export SOE ecosystem as a strategic move to enhance Indonesia’s trade competitiveness, improve export governance, and optimise the value of national resources in global markets,” according to BP BUMN’s official account on Monday, 25 May 2026.

Dony Oskaria and his team discussed several key agenda points, including:

  • Approval of share transfer to BPI Danantara and BP BUMN

  • Clarification of structure and status of PT Danantara Sumberdaya Indonesia (DSI)

  • Strengthening of legal and corporate governance aspects

Attendees included the Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of BKPM and CEO of Danantara Indonesia, Rosan Roeslani; Danantara Indonesia’s Chief Investment Officer (CIO), Pandu Sjahrir; President Director of PT Danantara Sumberdaya Indonesia (DSI), Luke Thomas Mahony; Deputy for BUMN Value Enhancement, Endra Gunawan; and Deputy for Legal and Compliance, Rini Widyastuti.

The establishment of the export SOE is designed to elevate Indonesia’s position in the global trade chain. The clear target is to strengthen Indonesia’s standing in international markets.

“Through this initiative, BP BUMN and Danantara are driving the creation of an export SOE capable of strengthening Indonesia’s position in the global trade chain, enhancing the value of national commodities, and making a tangible contribution to Indonesia’s economic growth,” according to BP BUMN’s official post.
