Dony Oskaria Speaks Out After IHSG Breaches 6,000, SOE Shares Stormed by Investors and Become Revival Engine
The revival of the Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG), which managed to breach the psychological level of 6,000 during trading on Friday, 12 June 2026, drew particular attention from Danantara’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Head of BP BUMN, Dony Oskaria. He stated that the surge in investor interest in state-owned enterprise (SOE) shares was the main factor lifting the performance of the Indonesian capital market.
The IHSG recorded significant strengthening and returned above the 6,000 level after facing market pressure in recent times. Behind this strengthening, SOE shares acted as the main driving force, particularly in the mining sector, state-owned banks belonging to the State Banks Association (Himbara), and PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (TLKM).
Since the start of trading, shares of state-owned companies recorded high accumulation of purchases from both domestic and foreign investors. In fact, a number of SOE shares in the mining sector were recorded as strengthening by up to around 7 percent during the day’s trading.
Responding to these conditions, Dony Oskaria said that investor confidence in the business resilience and profitability of SOE companies was the main catalyst capable of shifting the IHSG’s direction into positive territory. According to him, the strengthening that occurred was not merely short-term sentiment, but a reflection of market confidence in the fundamentals of state companies, which continue to be strengthened through various business transformation measures.
“We are very grateful and appreciate the positive performance of the IHSG, which today managed to return above the 6,000 level. The greatest thanks to all market participants and investors who continue to place high trust in the Indonesian capital market, and specifically in SOE shares,” Dony said in an official statement in Jakarta on Friday, 12 June 2026. The statement emerged amidst the heavy flow of funds entering SOE shares, a phenomenon that also shows that state companies remain the primary choice for investors when the market begins to show recovery.
Dony emphasised that the dominance of SOE shares in driving the IHSG’s strengthening was not a coincidence. He stated that the positive market response was the result of the transformation process that has been carried out across various state-owned companies.
