JAYAPURA, Irian Jaya: Fak-Fak regency officials closely watch
Thai fishermen they believe have contracted the Virus that may
cause AIDS.

Fak-Fak regent Suparlan Pasambuna said Thai fishermen's
movement has been closely watched following recent findings many
of them have HIV and some full-blown AIDS.

Recently, the local government deported 15 Thai fishermen
found to have contracted HIV/AIDS, Antara reported.

Suparlan said local health officials plan to test dozens of
the fishermen in Kaimana port for AIDS.

The local administration has called on prostitutes to refuse
customers from Thailand. (31)
