Don't Just Be a User! UNM Encourages Students to Become Technology Creators
In the midst of rapid technological development, most students remain in the position of users. Yet, the greatest opportunities are open to those who can create digital solutions. Responding to this challenge, Universitas Nusa Mandiri (UNM), as a Digital Business Campus, is encouraging students to transform from mere users to creators. Becoming a creator is not only about technical skills but also about understanding user needs and turning them into beneficial digital products. This requires a combination of creativity, problem-solving, and understanding of societal dynamics. UNM implements a project-based learning approach that allows students to produce real works during the lecture process. Through this method, students not only learn theory but also directly develop applicable and industry-relevant digital solutions. The Head of the Informatics Study Programme at UNM, Arfhan Prasetyo, emphasised the importance of changing students’ mindsets in the digital era. “We want students not only to use technology but also to create technology that benefits many people,” he stated in a comment quoted on Monday (27/4/2026). This approach is seen as capable of increasing students’ confidence while strengthening their competitiveness in the workforce or in building digital businesses. As a Digital Business Campus, UNM continues to commit to delivering innovative learning systems that encourage the birth of a creator generation. “With a spirit of innovation, UNM is optimistic about producing graduates who are not only adaptive to technology but also capable of becoming drivers of change in the digital era,” he concluded.
