<p>Don't be provoked by rumors: Surjadi</p><p> JAKARTA (JP): Governor Surjadi Soedirdja is urging Jakartans
not to be easily provoked by rumors and false information about
things happening in the capital.</p><p>The governor said yesterday at the State Institute for Islamic
Studies in Ciputat, south of here, that the public should help
the administration create a safe and secure atmosphere in
Jakarta.</p><p>"Don't just believe any information which contradicts
reality," he said.</p><p>The governor also urged the institute's students and lecturers
to share their knowledge with the public.</p><p>"I hope you can become models for society and implement your
knowledge in the real life," he said.</p><p>Surjadi handed over a donation of Rp 100 million (US$43,478)
for restoration of the campus mosque. (yns)</p>
