Don't be provoked by rumors: Surjadi
JAKARTA (JP): Governor Surjadi Soedirdja is urging Jakartans not to be easily provoked by rumors and false information about things happening in the capital.
The governor said yesterday at the State Institute for Islamic Studies in Ciputat, south of here, that the public should help the administration create a safe and secure atmosphere in Jakarta.
"Don't just believe any information which contradicts reality," he said.
The governor also urged the institute's students and lecturers to share their knowledge with the public.
"I hope you can become models for society and implement your knowledge in the real life," he said.
Surjadi handed over a donation of Rp 100 million (US$43,478) for restoration of the campus mosque. (yns)
