Don't be caught out: Jakarta CFD cancelled this weekend

The Jakarta Car Free Day (CFD) has been cancelled this weekend due to the observance of Waisak 2570 BE. ‘In observance of Waisak 2570 BE, the Car Free Day (HBKB) on Sunday, 31 May 2026 has been cancelled,’ stated in an official Instagram post from @dishubdkijakarta on Friday, 29 May 2026. The cancellation also references Article 5(1) of Governor’s Regulation No. 12 of 2026 on Car Free Day implementation. The area is typically a popular spot for residents to exercise, cycle, and spend time with family each weekend. The Jakarta Transportation Department urges the public to comply with traffic regulations and prioritise road safety this weekend. The Jakarta CFD usually runs along Jalan Jenderal Sudirman to MH Thamrin from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM WIB every Sunday. The CFD programme along Sudirman–Thamrin has become a regular weekly event.
