Bandung (ANTARA) - The West Java Regional Office of the Directorate General of Corrections states that Doni Salmanan, the convict in the binary options investment hoax case, has been granted parole from the Class IIA Jelekong Penitentiary in Bandung.

The Head of the Corrections Division of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights for West Java, Kusnali, confirmed that Doni Salmanan was released after receiving conditional release on Monday (6/4).

“On 6 April 2026, the inmate named Doni Muhammad Taufik alias Doni Salmanan received conditional release based on the regulation of the Minister of Law and Human Rights,” said Kusnali in a statement received in Bandung on Thursday.

Kusnali stated that during his sentence, Doni received a total remission of 13 months and 105 days for being assessed as having good behaviour.

“In addition, a fine of Rp1 billion has been paid to the state through the Bandung Regency Prosecutor’s Office,” he said.

He added that although he has been granted parole, Doni is still required to report to the Bandung Community Corrections Office (Bapas) during the parole period.

Kusnali emphasised that during the conditional release, Doni must comply with all applicable provisions.

Doni Salmanan began serving his detention on 9 March 2022 after being involved in a fraud case through the Quotex binary option platform and the criminal act of money laundering.

He was sentenced to eight years in prison and a fine of Rp1 billion based on the Supreme Court decision.
