Donation for Merapi victims

JAKARTA (JP): The Jakarta Office of the Ministry of Education
and Culture has donated Rp 65 million in cash to victims of the
eruption of Mount Merapi in Central Java.

In addition to the money, the office also donated rice,
instant noodles, sugar, soaps, toothpaste, writing books and
second-hand clothing.

The fund, primarily aimed at helping rebuild schools destroyed
when the volcano erupted last November, was handed over by, H.
Alwi Nurdin, of the education office, to Ahmad DS from the
Central Java provincial chapter of the ministry in Yogyakarta
over the weekend, Antara reported.

Alwi Nurdin said the donation is a reflection of the social
solidarity of students, teachers and employees of the Jakarta
