Donating goods during this Ramadhan is now possible online
Jakarta — Online marketplace OLX has introduced a free goods category as part of its #DealBikinBerkah programme during Ramadhan. Through this feature, users can advertise their belongings to be given away for free to those in need.
With this programme, donors do not need to go to a specific location to donate their goods, which may not necessarily all be needed. By advertising instead, interested parties who contact the seller will definitely be in need of the free items.
Item owners simply upload the products they wish to share in the free goods feature. Interested parties can then contact the advertiser and collect the items according to their agreement. This scheme allows unused goods to retain utility value in other people’s hands.
OLX Director Agung Iskandar stated that the initiative is designed to promote a sharing culture by leveraging digital technology. Through the DealBikinBerkah campaign, OLX aims to encourage the public to see that sharing can begin with things very close to daily life.
“OLX leverages technology by introducing the free goods category with the hope of creating a positive impact, extending the useful life of goods, and spreading blessings during Ramadhan. The more goods shared, the greater the benefit felt by the community,” said Agung in his media statement.
The programme runs from 18 February to 10 March 2026. In addition to promoting sharing activities, OLX has also prepared appreciation for users who actively upload free goods. The advertiser with the most postings has the opportunity to win several prizes, including PlayStation 5 Slim and iPhone 17 Air.
Several public figures are participating in the campaign, including Lutfi Afansyah, Ayla Dimitri, Dayu Hatmanti, Nuel Desy, and Teriyuloh. They uploaded personal items through the free goods category, which was then met with enthusiasm by their followers.
Goods that can be uploaded in this category include various types, ranging from mobile phones and devices, hobby and sports equipment, baby and children’s needs, household items, to office supplies. Users can access this service through the OLX application or official website.
OLX stated that the programme is part of efforts to build a more inclusive digital ecosystem. The free goods category is described as a practical alternative for people who wish to share without complicated procedures, whilst reusing usable goods that are no longer used.
