US President Donald Trump has once again issued threats against Iran. This time, he warned of sending Iran back to the Stone Age. Iran retaliated by stating it would strike the US and Israel even harder.

Initially, Trump signalled a new attack on Iranian territory. He indicated the strikes would occur in the next two to three weeks.

“We will hit them very hard over the next two to three weeks,” Trump said in a speech at the White House on Friday (3 April 2026).

Trump also stated that the attacks would return Iran to the Stone Age. He first used this phrase in relation to the war with Iran. Trump claimed that regime change in Iran is not the goal of the war.

“We will take them back to the Stone Age, where they belong,” he said.

“Regime change is not our goal. We never said regime change, but regime change has happened because all their original leaders are dead. They are all dead,” Trump added.

Trump’s threats were met with a response from Iran’s military. In its statement, Iran vowed to carry out more destructive strikes against the US and Israel.

“With faith in the Almighty God, this war will continue until you are humiliated, disgraced, and regret it permanently and certainly, and surrender,” said Iran’s Khatam Al-Anbiya military operations command in its latest statement, as reported by AFP on Thursday (2 April 2026).

It stated that Iran would launch broader retaliatory strikes. It described those counterattacks as destructive.

“Expect our more devastating, broader, and more destructive actions,” the statement emphasised.

As is known, Trump has repeatedly given differing accounts regarding the war initiated by the US and Israel against Iran. He initially claimed victory in the war.

He then requested NATO assistance to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, which Iran closed due to US-Israeli attacks. He later boasted that NATO help was not needed.

He also once claimed negotiations with Iran were underway. Al-Anbiya then stated that Iran requested a ceasefire.
